Registered Dieticians
Weight loss from bariatric surgery can involve both restricting food intake and the mal-absorption of food. The body not only takes in fewer calories, there is a decrease in nutrients – proteins, vitamins and minerals – absorbed by the body. Nutrition counseling will help patients learn how to maximize nutrients while adapting to the new digestive system, and offer them ideas and encouragement to create healthy meals.
